Managing a Flu Threat with Seasoned Urgency

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/10/health/10chan.html?_r=1&ref=health

Margaret Chan, the director general of the WHO, is facing a lot of criticism for the organization's sustained levels of alert as swine flu seems to diminish as a threat. In light of the conversation we had in class Thursday about the media's role in changing our perspectives of pandemic, I found this feature particularly interesting. Notably, many experts note that, while Chan has unprecedented power as a global health official, she and the WHO have responded impressively in the past two weeks.
